Abundance:
the Path to Freedom
The
concept of abundance is central to the Attraction Principles.
It's also one of the hardest concepts for people brought up in
a western culture to believe. It's so obvious to us that some
people, like many of us in the West, have so much, too much maybe,
whilst the majority of people in other parts of the world hardly
have enough to survive on. How can there be universal abundance
whilst anyone starves?
The answer is simple on a universal level and yet we manage to
make it incredibly complex - it isn't the supply that's the problem,
but the distribution. There's an abundance of everything we need
in this world for each and every one of us to survive, and yet
we don't act as if there is. We act as if there are limited resources.
If we fear the supply chain might dry up in the future, we don't
choose to share what we have now, instead we compete to get more
of it, we stockpile it and prevent the people we perceive as weaker
than us from getting control of it.
If however we truly trust that there's a continual abundant stream
of supply meeting our needs, we can give what we have away freely,
knowing that more will come to us. We can be generous with our
resources.
So how does developing an abundance mentality affect building
your Feng Shui business ? Very well indeed, in fact.
If you know from the outset that there are enough clients out
there for you, who are actively seeking what you supply, then
your marketing becomes so much simpler. You don't need to ever
think of selling your Feng Shui services again, all you need to
do is to make yourself visible to the people who have a compelling
need for what you supply. You will then want to take actions to
build their trust in you to the point where they feel certain
about buying what you offer, but that's a topic for another time!
I'm going to ask you, just for the next few minutes, to imagine
that you knew with total certainty that there's a limitless supply
of ideal clients out there who totally believe in Feng Shui and
are just waiting to find you. Let's consider some of the benefits
for you if you believed this:
- you'd never need to think of doing a sales pitch again
- you'd never sound desperate for the work when talking with a
potential client, which is deeply unattractive
- you wouldn't do work at a reduced rate (unless you'd made a
deliberate choice, such as doing pro-bono work)
- you'd be charging the rate that brings you all the income you
want whilst leaving you time to play
- you wouldn't take on clients when your instincts are screaming
that they're going to give you trouble
- you'd be interviewing potential clients to check if you really
want to work with them
- you'd set clear boundaries around the hours you work and stick
to them
- you'd also have clear boundaries about the type of Feng Shui
work you'll take on (unless it sounds so much fun, you just have
to try it)
- you'd view your Feng Shui competitors as potential collaborators
and feel excited about the ventures you can set up jointly
- you'd have all your admin systems set up and ready for your
maximum client base
I'm sure you could add to this list!
How appealing is it? Is it worth making some changes in your thinking
to have this as your reality?
If so, how do you shift from a fear based lack mentality (that
there aren't enough clients, I can't find them, they can't pay
etc) to an abundance mentality?
Why not try out making the shift in four easy stages:
Stage 1: Try out saying to yourself "Wouldn't it be nice if there
was an abundance of clients out there for me who are fascinated
by Feng Shui and what it can do for them?" Repeat this several
times a day until it feels very comfortable.
Stage 2: Then move on to saying "I'm open to just imagining that
there's an abundance of clients out there for me." Again, repeat
for as many times as it takes for this to feel a comfortable belief
to hold.
Stage 3: "I'm beginning to have faith in the possibility that
there's an abundance of clients out there for me" is the next
belief to shift into.
Stage 4: "There is an abundance of clients out there for me."
Once you hold the abundance belief, you'll find that you'll start
acting in ways that match with it. What you focus on becomes what
you get back, thus your reality begins to match your belief and
the perfect clients will show up!
Checkpoint:
What are your beliefs about abundance?
When are you going to make the shift to believing there is an
abundance of clients out there for you?
How will that change your marketing strategy?
